The Power of Interconnectedness Through Workplace Wellbeing
This month at my practice Brave Heart Wellbeing, I introduced monthly yoga and meditation sessions at work.
It’s something I’ve chosen to offer as a business – one hour per month for a gentle flow, guided meditation and a moment to disconnect from the busyness of life. There’s no expectation to join, just an open invitation to pause and breathe.
I’ve decided these sessions will be fully covered by the business, because I see it as investment – not just in my team’s wellbeing, but in the work we do together.
It might seem like a small thing – just an hour here or there – but I’ve learned that sometimes it’s the small things that make the biggest difference.
As a business owner, mother, wife, friend, human, I know there are factors outside of work that shape how we show up inside it.
No matter how hard we try, we can’t truly leave our ‘personal lives’ at the door.
Relationships, life moments for our kids, financial stress, managing domestic chores and life admin – all of it travels with us. It affects our focus, our energy, and our ability to always be fully present.
That’s the reality of being human and why interconnectedness matters!
By taking even a small action – like creating a space for the team to wind down and destress at the end of a busy month – we acknowledge that wellbeing (and life) cannot be compartmentalised. It’s woven through everything: home, work, community, self.
When I support my team in this way, it doesn’t just benefit them, it flows into the work we do, the people we support and the culture we create.
It may not seem like much, but often it’s the smallest acts of care that have the longest reach.
Because well-being at work isn’t just a policy – it’s a practice.
